PD101 is designed to help new PDs increase their knowledge and develop the core skills necessary to thrive as the director of a PA program.

The PD101 Workshop registration fee includes:

  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day
  • Hotel accommodations for four nights (checking in Tuesday, July 23, 2019, and checking out Saturday, July 27, 2019)

Attendees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements.

Workshop Description

Program Directors 101 focuses on the enhancement of leadership, innovation, and excellence in PA education. Through a variety of dynamic sessions, participants will be provided venues for learning, skills development, networking, and mentoring.

The five-day retreat format allows participants to immerse themselves in the experience without the daily distractions of PA education. Held in historic Old Town Alexandria, the workshop will take advantage of the setting to facilitate connections and camaraderie among facilitators and participants.

  • Leadership and management
  • Faculty recruitment and retention
  • Financial management
  • Accreditation
  • Curriculum development
  • Assessment and program outcomes
  • Addressing student issues and remediation
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Clinical rotations
  • Legal issues in higher education
  • PAEA resources

The workshop is designed for PDs and associate directors with fewer than two years in their position or fewer than five years in PA education.

Early bird registration: $3,100 members / 3,200 non-members
Regular registration: $3,300 members / $3,400 non-members
