I know there is a business meeting scheduled. What will be discussed during the meeting?
On Saturday, October 12, at 7:00 a.m., member programs will debate motions on key issues facing the Association and the profession, and hear updates from leaders of PAEA and other PA organizations. Board of Director election results will be announced. The agenda and additional information about this meeting can be found on the Business Meeting page, which will be available prior to the Forum.
Is there a tool to help me plan my Forum experience?
Again this year, we will offer a mobile app to help you navigate the event and plan your schedule. The mobile app will launch a few weeks prior to the conference. At that time, all registered attendees will receive an email with instructions for downloading and logging into the app.
In addition to the mobile app, the Map Your Show schedule planner will allow you to build out your schedule and plan your time at Forum months before the app launches. Registered attendees will receive instructions on how to use this tool from our Map Your Show vendor.
Continuing Medical Education
How many CME credits can I earn?
Nearly every education session at the 2019 Education Forum will be eligible for Category 1 CME credit. More information on the total number of CME hours available at this year’s Forum will be announced in the coming months.
Remember, however, that you must complete an evaluation for each session to claim your CME credit. Only those hours actually spent participating in a CME activity should be claimed.
CME credits will also be available for Fall Workshops. Refer to the workshop descriptions for more details.
Which exhibitors can I expect to see in the Solutions Pavilion?
A list of exhibitors and a map of their locations in the Solutions Pavilion will be available online in the coming months and will also be included in the final onsite guide.
Where in Washington, DC, is the 2019 PAEA Education Forum being held?
All events and activities are based out of the Washington Marriott Wardman Park. Hotel room check-in is at 3:00 p.m. and check-out at 12:00 p.m.
Is there free Wi-Fi in the conference area?
Yes, Wi-Fi will be complimentary during the event. For more information while at the Forum, check your onsite guide or ask a PAEA staff member.
How do I get free Wi-Fi in my hotel room?
Complimentary Wi-Fi access is available in all Washington Marriott Wardman Park guest rooms and many public areas, including the main lobby and pool deck.
When should I arrive in Washington, DC?
Forum registration begins on Wednesday, October 9, at 3:00 p.m., and the event officially kicks off Thursday, October 10, at 8:00 a.m. with the Welcome Breakfast.

How do I get to the hotel?
There are three main airports and one train station that are typically used when traveling to Washington, DC:
- Union Station (WAS) – 4 miles
- Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) – 7 miles
- Dulles International Airport (IAD) – 30 miles
- Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) – 40 miles
You can take a taxi or use a ridesharing app to travel to the Marriott Wardman Park. You can also book shuttle services with SuperShuttle to and from your preferred airport. Please refer to the Hotel and Travel page for more information.
What if I’m just presenting at the Forum but don’t plan to stay for the conference?
We require all presenters to register for the conference, as noted in the Call for Proposals. One-day passes are available. All presenters and attendees must wear identification badges during the conference. Please contact our conference team at Forum@PAEAonline.org if you have any questions or concerns.
As a presenter, is there special information I need to know?
Is there a deadline to register for the Education Forum or Workshops?
Yes, the last day to register for a Fall Workshop is Wednesday, October 2, 2019. There is no deadline to register for the Education Forum. Hill Day participants, however, must register by August 15.
Do you offer group discounts?
Our conference team makes every effort to keep costs as low as possible, therefore, we are unable to offer group discounts. The best rate available is the “early bird” registration. The early bird deadline is August 16.
Am I able to transfer my registration?
Yes, and there is no additional charge to do so. You can do this by going into your registration page using the confirmation number that was sent to you upon registration. Go to the “More Options” button and click on “Substitute Registration.” Feel free to contact us at Forum@PAEAonline.org if you are having trouble.
Am I able to modify or cancel my registration?
Yes. You’ll need your confirmation email, which you should have received after registering. Click on the link to modify your registration and enter your confirmation number. You will then be able to edit your personal information or registration, or to cancel it altogether. There is a 10% administrative fee if you do so before the deadline, Thursday, September 12, 2019. Feel free to contact us at Forum@PAEAonline.org if you encounter any issues.
What is the dress code?
Business casual is the suggested dress code for this event. Remember that meeting rooms tend to be a bit cold, so a sweater or light jacket might be necessary.
Participants in Hill visits are strongly encouraged to wear business professional attire.
Who can register for a workshop?
PAEA Workshops are intended for and limited to those directly involved in PA and/or medical education. Vendors and third-party representatives will be prohibited from attending any of the workshops. If a vendor or third-party representative registers for a workshop, PAEA reserves the right to cancel the registration without reimbursement of registration fees. If you are interested in sponsoring a workshop or have any questions about your registration status, please contact Workshops@PAEAonline.org to confirm.
What will the weather be like?
In mid-October in Washington, DC, you can expect a daily high temperature anywhere from 60° to 75°F, whereas the low typically falls to between 45° and 55°F. Please check The Weather Channel for updated information as the conference gets closer.
Is there a way to connect with other attendees in advance of the Forum?
Yes, PAEA members can join the “2019 Education Forum Attendees” professional learning community. This is an online community where attendees can network, ask questions, plan meet-ups or dinners, and more. If you do not have a PAEA Learning account, you can request one here. Can I advertise job openings at my PA program?
PAEA will once again be distributing its popular Faculty Jobs Flyer to attendees at this year’s Education Forum. The full-color booklet of open positions will be included in the registration bag of the more than 900 PA educators who are attending the Forum. If you have a faculty job opening you would like to list, please use this form to submit it by Monday, September 23.
